What is Bet Behind Pro?

Bet Behind Pro Blackjack by Pragmatic Play Live is a variant where automated bots occupy all seven seats and play every hand. Players do not sit at the table — they place Bet Behind wagers on any or all bot seats. Your outcome mirrors the bot's hand result on that seat.

Key distinction: You make no playing decisions. Every Hit, Stand, Double, and Split is executed automatically by the bots. Your only decisions are which seat(s) to bet behind and how much to wager.

Rules

8-Deck Shoe

8 decks of 52 cards. 4 to 4.5 deck penetration before reshuffling.

Dealer Stands on 17

Dealer draws to 16 and stands on all 17s including soft 17.

Doubling

Bots double on any two initial cards. One additional card only.

Splitting

Bots split equal-value pairs — one split per hand. Split Aces receive one card each.

Double After Split

DAS is employed where basic strategy calls for it. Adds approximately +0.12% to RTP.

Insurance

Per basic strategy, bots do not purchase insurance. Pays 2:1 if dealer has blackjack.

Bot Decisions & Basic Strategy

The bots are programmed to follow basic strategy for the rule set — the mathematically optimal play for every hand combination given the dealer's upcard. Basic strategy is optimal play in a vacuum: it assumes a neutral deck composition and makes no adjustments based on card removal or count.

No deviations are possible. Card counting produces value in two ways: bet sizing (increasing wagers when the count is favorable) and playing deviations (changing how a hand is played based on deck composition). A straightforward example: standing on 16 vs. a dealer 10 is a basic strategy hit — but when the true count is above 0, the count indicates that standing becomes correct. The bots play basic strategy on every hand regardless of the count. A counter cannot instruct a bot to deviate. Only the bet-sizing benefit is available — the deviation benefit is not.

Wonging: Entry Only

Mid-shoe entry and exit are frictionless — there are no seats to compete for. Place a Bet Behind wager on any seat at any point during the shoe, or withhold bets when the count is unfavorable.

What Wonging captures here: Entering on favorable counts means wagering more when the deck composition favors the player. This is the sole counting benefit available. Track the count from the start of the shoe even before wagering — a running count built up from the shoe's beginning is what enables accurate entry decisions.
Entry threshold: Hi-Lo true count of +2 or higher to enter. Drop back to minimum or no wager when the count falls below zero.
Verdict: The absence of deviation opportunity makes this a weaker counting game than any variant where you control your own decisions. Basic strategy is not optimal play — it is optimal play without count information. Every count-based deviation that a seated counter would make (stand 16 vs. 10 at TC +1, take insurance at TC +3, etc.) is unavailable here. Wonging entry benefits are real but partial.

Can I make any playing decisions in Bet Behind Pro?
No. All playing decisions are made automatically by bots following basic strategy. You only decide which seats to wager on and the bet amount.
Can I Wong in Bet Behind Pro?
Yes. Mid-shoe entry is frictionless with no seats to compete for. The benefit is limited strictly to bet sizing — strategy deviations are not possible since the bots play basic strategy regardless of the count.
Do the bots ever take insurance?
No. Per basic strategy the bots do not purchase insurance. Basic strategy declines insurance at all counts below approximately +3 true count, and the bots apply basic strategy without count-based adjustments.
