Introduction

Double Ball Roulette by Evolution Gaming uses a standard single-zero European wheel but launches two balls per spin using a pressurized air device. Both balls travel the same direction at the same speed with one trailing the other, and may land in the same or different pockets. The two-ball mechanic creates fundamentally different winning conditions for inside bets vs outside bets — understanding this distinction is the entire game.

The Two-Ball Mechanic

Inside bets: at least one ball must land on a covered number to win. If both balls land on covered numbers, the payout doubles. Two chances to hit on every spin.
Outside bets: both balls must qualify to win. A Red bet only wins if both balls land on red. One red, one black is a loss. One ball in your dozen is a loss if the other is not. The higher payouts (8:1 on Column/Dozen vs 2:1 in standard roulette) reflect this much harder win condition — and do not fully compensate for it.

Inside Bets

Standard inside bets. Win if at least one ball covers your number. Both balls on a covered number doubles the payout.

RTP

Column / Dozen~86.49%Both balls must land in same group
Column and Dozen bets carry an ~86.49% RTP — the worst of any bet in this game. Both balls must land in the same column or dozen, which rarely happens. The 8:1 payout does not offset this probability. Inside bets remain 97.30% and are the better value in Double Ball Roulette.

FAQ

How does Double Ball Roulette differ from standard roulette?
Two balls are launched per spin. Inside bets win if at least one ball covers your number — both balls on the same number doubles the payout. Outside bets require both balls to land on qualifying numbers to win at all.
What payout do I get if both balls land on my straight-up number?
Double the standard payout — 70:1 instead of 35:1.
What is the Two Balls Selected Number bet?
A bet that both balls will land on a specific number you predict in advance. Pays 1,300:1. The Two Balls Any Number bet (both land on the same number but you did not predict which) pays 35:1.
Are Column and Dozen bets worth placing?
Both balls must land in the same column or dozen to win — an RTP of approximately 86.49%. Despite the 8:1 payout, this is materially worse than any standard European Roulette bet. Inside bets at 97.30% are the better value.
Is the Red/Black split bet different from betting Red?
Yes. The Red bet and Black bet each require both balls to land on that color (pays 3:1). The Red/Black split bet is a separate wager that one ball lands on red and the other on black — it pays 1:1. These are distinct bets with different win conditions.
