“Just last year, the SEC set a new record for players selected in a single NFL Draft. There is good reason to believe a new record in this month’s NFL Draft will surpass 70 SEC football players, with possibly as many as 75 being drafted. According to a media release by the SEC, only twice in the last 26 NFL Drafts has a conference other than the SEC had more than 50 players selected. Bold Prediction for one SEC Football Team The number of Auburn players drafted will be surpassed by the number chosen from San Diego State.”
“”What stood out to me about the visit was just seeing what the players had said about their spring and how things have been going,” Downs said. “It’s like talking with the person with all the secrets in the field you’re looking into,” the top safety said of his meeting with Coach Saban. “I got to go to meetings with players and had a meeting with Coach Saban. “I like the winning tradition there,” Downs said after camping at Alabama in June.”
