Now onto the News, Rumors, and Commentary…

“Who will lead the Texas A&M Football team in receiving yards and touchdowns in 2021? Prior to the year, there would have been a few obvious candidates: Caleb Chapman, Ainias Smith, or Jalen Wydermyer. For the past few weeks, Smith may have looked like the obvious candidate, but Demas nearly amassed his total with just two catches — that’s how close this is. As things stand, Wydermyer and Smith remain as the team’s top two yardage-compilers this season. For example, in the absence of Caleb Chapman, Demond Demas filled in and had a 100-yard receiving game where he reeled in his first touchdown reception.”

“”I went home and sat in the front of the TV and said ‘Well, I ain’t the Lone Ranger” said Fisher with a laugh. I think you’ve got so many young players now playing that I think that maturity and getting guys in games…guys are rolling out as juniors now so you’re constantly playing young, young guys. You can say they’re talented but how to play the game and playing winning football are two different things at a high, high level. “I was proud of our team.” he said.”

“12th in scoring averaging 28 points per game 7th in rushing averaging 185 yards per game 13th in passing offense with a passer rating of 126 7th in total offense at 445 yards per game 13th in turnovers lost with 7 Arkansas is a middle of the road SEC unit that still lives off of turnovers and isn’t as big in the front seven as a lot of units. However, they were 11th in league in total defense and 12th in run defense in 2020 so they’re making progress. Here are Texas A&M’s offensive rankings based off of last week’s numbers in comparison to the remainder of the Southeastern Conference. Texas A&M plays in its first Southeastern Conference of the season when it goes up against Arkansas this upcoming Saturday from AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Meanwhile, Arkansas has used an influx of transfers via the NCAA portal and their own collection of “super seniors” to add badly needed size and depth in comparison to last season.”

“Right now, it looks like they’re in position to end up with maybe one guard in the 2022 class. The big thing in the conference release There’s obviously not one for Texas and OU. Calzada definitely improved, but he’s got more work to do A few things to note from Saturday: Zach Calzada completed more than 50% of his passes Saturday for the first time in his career and threw multiple touchdowns for the first time. Big problem could be awaiting Arkansas During his Monday press conference, Arkansas coach Sam Pittman said he told offensive line coach Cody Kennedy to prepare this week like center Ricky Stromberg and right tackle Dalton Wagner will be out this weekend after suffering injuries against Georgia Southern.”
