Introduction

Speed Blackjack by Pragmatic Play Live is a deviation of standard blackjack where action cards (Hit, Double, Split) are dealt in order of who acts first — not by seat position. This is the Pragmatic Play equivalent of Evolution's Classic Speed Blackjack, using the same first-come, first-served mechanic and the same core rule set including Double After Split.

8-Deck Shoe

Eight decks. 4 to 4.5 deck penetration before reshuffling.

Dealer Stands on 17

Dealer draws to 16, stands on all 17s.

Doubling

Double on any two initial cards including Double After Split situations.

Splitting

Split equal-value pairs — one split per hand. Split Aces allowed. No hit on split Aces.

Double After Split

DAS permitted except on split Aces.

FCFS Action

Action cards (Hit, Double, Split) are dealt in order of who submits their request first.

Bet range: $5 – $2,500. Bet Behind available.

FCFS Decision Mechanic

After the initial deal, players submit their actions simultaneously. Each request joins a queue in the order it was received. The first request in the queue receives the next drawn card. When a player wants to hit again after receiving a card, that new request joins the back of the queue behind all requests already waiting — regardless of how quickly they acted the first time. There is no guarantee of consecutive cards to the same player.

Counting implication: Each card drawn by another player before you commit your own action updates the running count. Acting deliberately on a first hit lets you observe those earlier draws and factor them into your decision.

Wonging

Mid-shoe entry and exit are permitted. Use Bet Behind at minimum stakes while tracking the count, then take a seat when the true count reaches +2 or higher. The FCFS mechanic adds a timing dimension: submitting your action early in a positive-count round positions your request at the front of the queue for that draw.
